Delivering a power-packed performance
Cummins India introduces the REPTO engine for the RMC sector
Cummins India introduces the ISB6.7 BSVI engine with Rear Engine Power Take Off (REPTO) capabilities to power the Concrete Mixer vehicles in the Indian market. Conventionally, in the Ready-Mix Concrete (RMC) transport sector, the concrete mix vehicles use a slave engine to operate the mixer application.
Power Take Off, commonly known as PTO is a way of taking power from the engine to power hydraulic or mechanical equipment. The development involves designing and integrating new parts, arranging new supplier tooling and manufacturing line upgrades as well as rigorously testing and analyzing performance of engines for thousands of hours.
Powered by proven Cummins technology of more than 10 lakh hours duty cycle operating internationally and developed on the reliable Cummins ISBe 6.7L BS6 Engine, world’s highest selling engine, the integrated REPTO solution from Cummins India has been specifically designed for Indian duty cycle conditions and eliminates the need of the slave engine. Keeping in mind the impact on the environment, the proven BS6 technology ensures lower carbon footprint.
This helps lower the Total Cost of Ownership for the customer due to reduction in inventory-carrying cost of the slave engine and associated accessories further resulting in reduced cost of service to customer.
Some of the key features of the REPTO engine include-
- Only solution developed, validated and commercially available worldwide that offers a 12 o'clock PTO provision to a B 6.7 engine.
- High Torque capacity of up to 500 Nm continuous with up to 600 Nm intermittent torque.
- High efficiency of power delivery – 98% Torque realisation
- Other distinct game changing advantages include Enhanced Engine PTO technology with high Torque capacity , High Efficiency of Power Delivery, Ease of calibration Customized for Equipment, Easy to Operate through Switches on Dashboard, Lower Carbon Footprint with BS6 Technology, Enhanced Driver Comfort, Drum rotation failsafe etc.
“Delivering on its brand promise of innovation and dependability, the REPTO engine is truly a power-packed, yet compact offering by Cummins in India. Given the thrust on infrastructure development over the last few years, this solution not only provides additional powering capabilities but also enables OEMs to lower their installation as well as service costs.” concludes Anjali Pandey, Vice President Engine Business and Components Business, Cummins India.
