As part of Women’s History Month, we take time to recognize and celebrate the contributions women have made across industries and communities. At Cummins, we are highlighting the impact of just two of the many leaders who are helping bring the all-new Cummins X10 engine to life, displaying the expertise, leadership, and collaboration that drive innovation forward.
Cummins Celebrates Women Leaders Driving the X10 Engine
One of the leaders is Dalia Acosta, a Customer Integration Specialist at Cummins. With more than 10 years of experience at the company, she has built her career advocating customer needs while driving technical alignment across teams. Through her work, she helps to expand both what is possible in engineering and who leads it.
In the development of the X10, Dalia plays a critical role in ensuring the engine integrates seamlessly across customer equipment and applications, representing customer requirements throughout the development process and aligning engineering precision with real-world performance. As she explains, “Supporting the X10 is more than launching an innovative product — it’s helping shape the future of who gets to be part of creating it.”
Another leader helping shape the future of the Cummins X10 engine is Tara Johnson, Product Manager for the platform at Cummins. In her role, she connects engineering innovation, market strategy, and customer priorities into one unified vision, ensuring the X10 delivers measurable value—not just technical advancement.
Having previously worked across multiple functions at Cummins, including commercial, procurement, and customer support, Tara brings a broad perspective that helps her understand both customer needs and the internal organization. As Tara shares, “It is once in a generation that you get to bring a new engine to life. X10 is the next evolution in a 40-year mid-bore legacy.”
The Cummins X10 engine represents more than just engineering innovation, reflects the power of collaboration, diversity, and leadership across the company. By celebrating the contributions of women like Dalia and Tara, Cummins shows how diverse perspectives drive solutions that meet customer needs today while shaping the future of mobility. Their work ensures that the X10 not only delivers performance and dependability but also embodies the values of excellence and innovation that define Cummins.
